You can support us in multiple ways... besides directly becoming involved as a volunteer or joining our network as someone who can help with minor but recurring maintenance tasks... we receive donations of money, tools and spare parts.

We run entirely on donations, all work is volunteer and unpaid, and we do not receieve any funding from the municipality. Therefore we are entirely dependent on our ecosystem of volunteers, maintainers and donations.

We receieve about 200 per year in cash donations and we spend about 180 per year to buy all the expandables we need that we cannot get donated*.

*Typically these are: oils, grease, bike tube patches+glue, coffee, trash bags, tape, etc. A record of donations and expenses is listed inside the werkplaats, as well as a tool 'wish list' and list of expendable items we need! If you see anything on this list you are also very welcome to donate it to us!

We receive and spend more money for infrastructure related projects through different lump-sum donations/grants, a report of these works will be published soon.

Donate spare parts and bikes

The Doe-Het-Zelf Werkplaats has been built entirely from spare parts donated or scavenged from old bikes, and menticulously organized by volunteers, over our 15+ year history.

We appreciate dontations but sorting through them is a lot of work. Please pre-sort if you can, and only donate parts that are suitable to reuse (not broken or overly worn).

Please bring all donations during opening hours, if it is a large amount please email us in advance.

We generally do not have space for donated bikes, however we do like to recirculate bikes if they are ready to ride. Please do not leave bikes or spare parts parked outside of the werkplaats.
