Wil je bijdragen aan de Doe-het-zelf Werkplaats?
U kunt de DHZ ondersteunen in verschillende manieren, onder andere:
- Word vrijwilliger in de fietswerkplaats. Geen ervaring nodig, alleen maar enthusiasme en tijd.
- Geld doneren, als contant tijdens onze openingstijden, of electronisch via WhyDonate.
- Herbruikbaar fietsonderdelen doneren, of zelfs een hele (werkende) fiets
- Gereedschap doneren.
- iets anders (neem contact even op als je nieuwe ideeen hebt!)
We werken alleen maar met donaties, en we krijgen geen fonds van de overheid of de gemeente.

Donations
You can support us in multiple ways… besides directly becoming involved as a volunteer or joining our network as someone who can help with minor but recurring maintenance tasks… we receive donations of money, tools and spare parts.
We run entirely on donations – all work is volunteer and unpaid, and we do not receive any funding from the municipality. Therefore we are entirely dependent on our ecosystem of volunteers, maintainers and donations.
We receive about 200 euros per year in cash donations and we spend about 180 per year to buy all the expendables we need that we cannot get donated*.
*Typically these are: oils, grease, bike tube patches+glue, coffee, trash bags, tape, etc. A record of donations and expenses is listed inside the werkplaats, as well as a tool ‘wish list’ and list of expendable items we need! If you see anything on this list you are also very welcome to donate it to us!
We sometimes receive and spend more money for infrastructure-related projects through different lump-sum donations/grants, a report of these works will be published soon.

Donate spare parts and bikes
The Doe-Het-Zelf Werkplaats has been built entirely from spare parts donated or scavenged from old bikes, and meticulously organized by volunteers, over our 15+ year history.
We appreciate donations of reusable parts. However, sorting through them can be a lot of work. Please pre-sort if you can, and only donate parts that are suitable to reuse (not broken or overly worn). Please bring all donations during opening hours, if it is a large amount please email us in advance. We generally do not have space for donated bikes, however we do like to recirculate bikes if they are ready to ride. Please do not leave bikes or spare parts parked outside of the werkplaats.
